Got this, I'm not so sure about it....:

    IMPORTANT
    Dear PayPal Member,
Due to overwhelming reports of fraudulent transactions and account abuse, PayPal now requires all active members who have an account to verify that they rightfully own it.

You must click the link below and enter your email, password and reference code on the following page to verify your account.

This is NOT a SCAM or HOAX. Please check your address bar to make sure you are on the authentic PayPal website.

    https://www.paypal.com/accountcleanup

You will be guided through a series of steps which will require you to enter personal information, such as credit card number and/or bank details

That bit about entering your details again is worrying but if I type in the url manually, I do get a valid webpage. Spam, Scam or real? Anybody else use Paypal, did you get this?

I don't think that's from paypal... as far as know paypal always use your name when sending you a letter/e-mail...

I think it's a con just to get your details...

if you put in paypal.com/ANYTHING it'll come up with a valid site.

    https://www.paypal.com/xbvcbxvcbxcvbxcvbxcvbxcvbxcv

^^ will come up with the standard site.

sounds dodge. the only thing like that from paypal is the account activation you get when you initially sign up.

If in doubt, delete. that's always the best solution.

Its a scam - report it to Paypal here - you'll need to login and then paste in the HTML code from your mail.

[thought]If you don't want to follow the link posted on an internet site, go to the Paypal site and on the very bottom of the page click on the Security Centre link, and look in the For Buyers column for the "Report A Problem" section and click on the spam link[/thought]

    Thanks guys, I'll report it

    This is the email:

    http://homepage.eircom.net/~anderson2002/misc/paypal.gif

On reading the source, I found the email came from:

    Return-path: <nobody@pluto.sausagehosting.com>

Also, the link to Paypal.com/accountcleanup is actually a link to:

    <A href="http://www.paypal.com%00@ral.me.uk/statuschecker/index.htm">https://www.paypal.com/accountcleanup/</A&gt;

hmm, thats the only bit that doesnt make sence to me, it is paypal.com that the link points to?
