Irish Computer Society

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone here is a member of the Irish Computer Society?

I was sitting here semi-bored and I thought about doing a computer course (I have a computing diploma, but I was thinking of a specialised course), and then I thought where could I find out about these courses, and then for some inexplicable reason I thought aobut the Irish Computer Society (I say inexplicable because I have absolutely no idea about the ics, its agenda or its generally perceived reputation [I mean they reckon the ECDL is a good measure of a persons computer skills - I know people who passed and can't even do a mailmerge ffs]).

Now the reason I ask in here is because I was thinking about it from the *nix point of view, i.e. does the ics recognise linux as a viable and even superior choice to windows, or is it another outpost for MS Heaven tm. I was also thinking of doing a course in linux or maybe something LAMP and was wondering if the ics would be a good way to approach it.

Anyway, if nobody knows about the ics or has nothing nice to say about them I would also be interested in any linux societies or anything of that ilk...

    Thanks in advance
    Baz_
