Unlike HIA this one isn't based upon a feeling or emotion, but a plectrum that a friend owned. This plectrum had a particularily deranged looking clown on it. Anyway, the story goes that he told me to write a song about that plec (I had never written a song before) and the result was killer clown

    Killer Clown

Went to the circus just a while ago
Didn't know then and I still don't know
That was where the clown I'd see
That was exactly where I didn't want to be

    The Clown is calling
    My defence is falling
    He's coming to get me
    The Killer Clown

His pale white face and his big red smile
Covering a frown, and covering denial
Covering his mind, and covering his heart
Covering his soul, and tearing him apart

    The Clown is calling
    My defence is falling
    He's coming to get me
    The Killer Clown

    [Insert Guitar Riff here]

    The Clown is calling
    My defence is falling
    He's coming to get me
    The Killer Clown

I hear his voice calling from across the waves
I hear his voice in my mind every day
The killer clown, he hunts me down, but be it as it me
    I can't look around, and I can't run away

    The Clown is calling
    My defence has fallen
    He's gonna get me
    The Killer Clown

    He's here

Last verse doesn't quite work (third line is a bit too long to scan easily); I'd suggest something more along the lines of this:

I hear him calling from across the waves
His voice in my mind every single day
The killer clown, coming for his prey
    I can't look around, and I can't run away

On a related note, there's a Deathboy song called Killerclowns you might find interesting, given that it's basically about the same idea.

The way I have the song in my mind is that the tempo slows down for the third verse, then comes back up on that last line

As for the deathboy song, I listened to have of it then gave up. As a lyricist, songs with indistinguishable sining irritate me. Gomen nasai!
