The year is coming to a close now and I was wondering what was everyone's best and worst moments of 2004?
    My best was joining board.ie(!)
Worst, being banned from the Politics forum on Boards.ie (Yes, I admit it, it was me who supported the SWP, I'm a bad person)

If you want to protect your life outside boards, (if you have one that is), you can tell us what your best and worst boardsie moments were.

Worst moment, not of only 2004, but of my life.

    Read about it here

I didn't post in the "Best Moment of 2004" thread because I couldn't.

Best: My boss getting the boot and me being given his job. I was told that it was going to happen months beforehand but they had to wait for the right time to protect themselves legally. So I sat for months taking crap from my boss waiting for it to happen but never 100% sure it would. Then it did about 2 months ago and now I sit in his chair and have free reign to do the job right.

Worst: A few bad moments this year. Just had a buyer pull out from buying our house which has now added a lot of stress. Also went back home to Ireland for a couple of weeks to see family. Family is a complete mess, I think my dad should be in a padded cell. After spending two weeks with them I would be very happy not to see them for a very long time.

Actually your banning is one of my high points. You got banned for having a hoplessly naive tedious incoherant worldview and inflicting it on the rest of us. The median mental age of posters went up by about ten years after you left.

Worst moment of 2004 - got two of them
First was one of my best friends going in for an operation and nearly dying. It's happened to her a few times, but she's always managed to pull through. I remember going in to see her afterwards and being shocked more by how broken she seemed, then by what had happened to her.

the other was our summer exams. There was 13 of them and I seriously thought I was going loopy by the time they'd finished! I never, ever want to go through anything like that again.

    Best moment of 2004 - there's a good few:
Finding out I'd (just about) passed my Autumn repeats. I was convinced I'd failed one of them, and was really down about it cos I thought I'd be repeating the year, and i really wanted to graduate with my class. Now hopefully next July I will! :)

Finally grading in bujinkan. Took a while (two years), but I got there eventually!

On holidays with my friends in Cyprus, driving through the streets on mopeds not knowing, or caring where we were going. Total freedom and 30 degree heat - what more could you want! (I like hot places)

Best moment was signing the papers for my first house :)

Worst moment was when I found out my boss (and friend) had died of a massive heart attack at the age of 45. :(

Best: Buying my 'forever' home and managing to pull off the whole sale/purchase thing, also just found out i'm getting a new car in Jan '05.

Worst: Finding out that i had to pay the balance of the 10% money when i signed the contracts, rather than when i closed the purchase on the day i was signing.

Yeah, Ive got to agree Omni getting banned from politics wont be on my list of worst things to happen during the year.
"Why do nations have nuclear weapons?" - FFS!

Best moment/moments apart from that has to be the time I spent visiting my best friend in Zurich, having not seen him for months.

    Best General Moment of 2004

    England - 13
    Ireland - 19

At Twickenham. That ranks up there as a pretty good high.

    Worst General Moment of 2004

The Beslan school siege in September.... GAH. YUK. Worst moment of 2004 by a long shot.

Best Boards.ie Moment of 2004 - The collective members raising over 3000 euros just to see amp in a dress. The SSF 2004 in general

Worst Boards.ie Moment of 2004 - The disappearance of rep points. I thought they were a great laugh.

Personally, best and worst moments for me..... Health issues in the year were pretty bad, but I made some really great friends this year too, which is good good.

Having said that, I wish 2004 was over. It has sucked.

Best was either the day I got my LC results, or my college christmas do in TGIs 2 weeks ago. never enjoyed myself that much and never ever thought I'd make such good friends, thought it'd be all aquaintances and not really knowing anybody.

Worst hmmm the night when someone tried to break into our house during the summer n my dad was away and my mum didn't wake up. That wasn't good!
