Dempsey has therefore decided to blame the South West Regional Authority for his plan....not to spend money that is.

SWRA are working closely with the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources and the National Microelectronics Applications Centre on research into the future of satellite broadband and other innovative technologies.

Minister Dempsey welcomed the initiative, and encourages all satellite broadband users to participate in the survey.

The results of the survey will help to pinpoint the role of satellite technology in the overall plan for broadband rollout.

The Role of VSAT BB in a Developed country should be that the dishes are redeployed for tomato propogation but Dempsey wants to dump the problem of solving the BB deficit in Ireland on a few multinational companies who provide VSAT BB services, companies such as Hughes or SES Astra who own the Satellites.

A Developed country should have a plan for Universal Low Latency technology such as WIMAX . Ireland is not a Developed Country ...regrettably which is why idiots like Demspsey conduct these surveys to waste time and money .

Beware, they have a trick in the survey where the intial scale of 1=worst 5=best is reversed half way through the survey to catch the unwary. You may end up misrating the service as being better than you may care to say. Consistency, Dempsey style.
