    Hi all

i need to go on a Flash MX course, just the basics.

i've found two courses in dublin so far

one with the computer training company thats ?625 for a 2 day course

and another with the new media technology college thats a day a week (3 hours a day) for eight weeks for ?550 you get a city & guilds cert at the end of it.

anyway, has anyone here done any of these courses, known anytone that did them, and has any advice? or are there othe courses available that might be better?

    thanks in advance

They both sound expensive, are courses like that generally quite expensive? I have to say, I've no idea. But, if it's just the basics, I found that by working through the tutorials included with flash mx, you can learn quite a lot very quickly.

If you need to have the qualification, I would automatically think that the city and guilds one would be better, in the sense that it would probably be more recognised.

I did a course in dorset college and found it mostly very good, they do a flash mx course http://www.dorset-college.ie/, don't know how much it is but might be worth a look. However, I agree with dead air. I found that online tutorials are a great way of learning, if you're interested check out http://www.actionscripts.org. The have lots of tutorials from beginner to advanced. :)

    I have used these before
    http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=29
and found it excellent and cheap.
You would need fast connection as files are large.
What I have done is let it run and then get the files from the Temp Directory and save then to CD etc.

To get an idea of content/style of training you can get some sample chapters for free. Also check out the full list of courses available.

Once downloaded you can use/resuse at your own pace and dont have to be online to work with them.

    List of current training http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modListing.asp

I just did a one month suscription and then got all training for Photoshop, Flasd, Dreamweaver etc, etc , piece of cake .....

    thanks for the comments people.

the lynda tutorials have been recommended before, i'll definitely give it a go.

The fact that you can store and re-use the tutorials makes it an excellent option imo.
