Some guidelines for many of the drivers I met last weekend:

    - Indicate before you turn, it could save someones life (or atleast alot of hassle and expense).

    - When you meet a car, dim your lights.

    - When you are following a car, dim your lights (even if your back a couple of hundred yards).

    - When you're following a car keep back a safe distance. You wont get there any faster by driving 6 feet from the car in front. If you keep back a bit you'll save petrol, save break pads and you'll have a more relaxing drive. A safe distance is around 1 meter for every mph you are travelling at (especially if the road is wet).

    - Don't try to bully other cars off the fast lane by driving too close to them. - If they are travelling as fast as the car in front of them, they have every right to be there - our journey isn't any more important than theirs.

    - If you drive a patrol type vehicle, try especially hard not to be a bully just because (you believe) your vehicle will keep you safe in a collision. If you kill someone else you'll have to live with it, and it wont be easy.

    - Show courtesy, care and consideration for other road users. There are only two kinds of drivers; careful drivers and bad drivers.

Take a bit of pride in your driving, acting like an asshole behind the wheel doesn't impress anyone.
