NTL have today announced changes in their pricing.

The major highlight is that the cost of a second box for NTL Digital has been slashed from EUR 12 (ie the entire cost of a second subscription) to just EUR5. NTL Digital MMDS customers will be able to get a second box for EUR 10 (instead of EUR 19).

    Other changes:
Analogue cable goes up to EUR 19.50 (from EUR 18).
Digital basic goes down to EUR 10 (from EUR 12).
MMDS goes up to EUR 19.50 (from EUR 19)
MMDS Digital Choice goes down to EUR 5 (from EUR 7) (remember MMDS users have no analogue service).
Broadband starter goes down to EUR 25 (from EUR 30).

The idea seems to be to encourage people to take up go digital (or in the case of MMDS, Digital Choice). It makes the process of taking out second subscriptions much cheaper.

    Interesting....

Have they given any date saying when the new prices will commence?

    Analouge +E1.50
    Digital - E2

Seems like a good deal, and that E5 for a second box, I wouldn't mind that, anyone know how much it would cost for installation?

anyone know how much it would cost for installation?

I would presume that is would be the same €25 as the normal installation. Not certain though.

    I have few questions, if you can help with;

    1. Is the 2nd box the same thing as multiviewing and is that €5 per month for the box?

    2. When you go digital, does it replace you analog cable channels?

I have analog and will soon pay €19 per month (I have two tv's in house -spliter on cable)

    If I go digital
    €25 installation
    €10 Basic digital channels
    €5 extra box
    monthly total of €15

    Is this correct?

    Thanks

    1. Yes.
    2. No you recieve the analouge channels in addition to the digital ones, so you pay the E19 a month + E10 for the digital.

so if you get the second box for €5 is it like a mirror sub from sky, ie. do you get all the channels on the 2nd sbcription that you have ob the first for an extra €5?

just looking for info on this on the ntl site:

    "Watch and Record:

You can watch a digital channel while recording one of the 17 Basic TV channels, or you can watch one of the 17 Basic channels while recording from a digital channel."

Am I missing something cos i only have 16 channels?
