apple ipod speakers

    just looking for a few recommendations here..

    with christmas just around the corner i'm looking at getting ipod speakers as a present for somebody..
    i don't know too much about sound etc, but i've had a look at the speakers
    from the apple store..
    do any of you have any experience with such speakers?
    or would you recommend seperate speakers.. not related to apple?

    bare in mind, i'm on a budget of about 200euro and can't afford those sexy Bose ones!
