    On Thursday next, 16th December, the Irish Developer Network (www.IrishDev.com ), Ireland’s largest software developer community (1,290 members), celebrates Christmas in Denzille Lane private theatre.

    You are invited to attend all or part of the evening the evening, which starts with a drinks reception and food at 7pm, where there will be an opportunity to meet with IrishDev members and key industry influencers and attend a lecture by Christian Weyer. We will conclude the night with a special showing of the sci-fi movie, Bladerunner on the big screen in Ireland for the first time in a decade.

    Christian is a Microsoft Regional Director for both Austria and Germany and has previously lectured at IrishDev events in Dublin. A published author, he is a recognised industry leader in messaging technologies, particularly Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture and Indigo, the future of Windows communications. Renowned worldwide as a Systems Architect, his clients include, Aventis, Bayer, Software AG, IBM & HP.

    Irish Developer Network began as a Limerick University User Group in 2002 and in 2003 expanded to become the first national developer community in Ireland in 2003. In addition to online services and offline activities IrishDev supports business networking between members. Since launching, over €1,000,000 of trade can be attributed to IrishDev cooperation.

    The Irish Software Industry represents over 33% of Irish GDP employs 90,700 people of whom 12,000 are developers.

    They are however specifically relevant to web developers. Even developers who don't yet develop full web applications can take advantage of web services.
    For example Amazon.com provide such a service free to webmasters and developers to enhance their sites.
