Choosing an Ultra Portable Laptop

    Right, I’m looking for any advice, peoples experience, any two cents worth etc.

    I’m looking to buy a laptop that’s nice and portable. I’m looking at models with 10/12inch screen mainly and external dvd/cd drives. My budget is up to €1,800 but would rather spend less unless it’s gonna make a big difference.

    So far (haven’t been looking long) I’m considering the Acer Travelmate 382TMi (It’s about €1700). An earlier model of this laptop got a pretty good review in PcPro a few months ago.

    and the Asus S5200N (around €1,200) which got quite a good review on Tomshareware.com (cept the battery life).

    Did you try the search function? Go on - try searching this forum for the word "portable". You could then try reading the threads "Anyone recommend a very portable laptop?" and "Need help choosing a portable / thin'n'light laptop"

    ya there was a thread there either last week or the week before containing exactly the info that you need! USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!!!!!!!!!
