Natural colour is generally nicer as you get varied shades of colour and there are far too many dyed-blond heads in Ireland at the moment.

    So brown.

I'd say go with brown. Most of the dyed blonde I see is quite horrible. And stay as far away from stripes as possible, in my callous embittered opinion these are absolutely dire.

It really depends on the individual though, some complexions just cannot go with blonde at all, some might look good, etc. But I say, if it's natural, it's like that for a reason, you're probably going to look the best leaving it as it is. Unless you're going for an unnatural look, that is... In which case I recommend blue.

If you are naturally brown then stick with it - normally your hair colour tones with your skin etc. If you in between and were blonde when you were younger then blonde might suit but not a light blonde.

    blonde in summer

chances are, if you're semiblonde already you'll be able to pull off full blonde. but one thing - don't do it yourself. get a half head of blonde highlights done and then decide if you want to get a full head next time.

but redheads have the most fun :P

Red or black (or a bit of both) is the nicest, IMHO.

Whats with this red hair popularity ?
I detest Red Hair with a pale complexion.
If I had a child with Red hair I'd disown him.
    Blonde or Brunette for me.

I assume people are thinking of that red wine colour you get grom hair dye rather than the authentic carrot colour.

Bit harsh on the child all the same tbh :)

Hmm there's hair colour products galore on the market, plenty of fake tan products - but no fake freckle products. I know some rich people - just wonder if I can convince them theres a gap in the market :p Christ I'm so evil :D

... back on topic. Think you need to go by eyebrows: if these are'nt black you could get away with blonde, otherwise best brown imho!

Genius - you could make a fortune of all those Irish-Americans who don't have freckles like all the people in Ireland do.

I find it absolutely hilarious whenever I see a red haired woman with fake tan.

Go for a mix between the two. I love shiny brown hair, but a mix of brown with a few streaks of blonde (not too pale though) looks nice.

'Tis possible to have blonde hair and dark eyebrows you know...

That probably looks ok when you've just had it done but it can go dodgy when your hair starts to grow again...

Blonde is high maintenance. Blonde with dark roots is really vile. Brown with subtle highlights gets my vote.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,423 ✭✭✭tinkerbell

    Brown, brown, brown.

There are so many blondes walking around with their dark roots showing, it's awful! At least with brown you don't have to worry about roots.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Flukey

Definitely go with your natural colour. You'll look better that way as it should suit the rest of your colouring. Anyway, it is not just the colour of hair that matters, but also how it looks.

barring going anything interesting like green, blue or flourescent red, I'd say stick with brown.

I would advise booking a colour consultation with a professional colourist. or else your local hairdresser at the very least. Changing your hair colour is drastic. Deciding to go blonde or brown is too vague. There are a million shades of brown and blonde! you yourself may choose a shade that doesnt suit you at all.... then you have to live with it for at least 6 months.
Anyway, I have to say I like Kerry McFaddens new hair colour. It really suits her...

have to say i agree with everyon saying brown... im natuarally blonde and i hate it..ive had black hair (so not a good look... keep clear) brown,, which was ok pink for a while (another mistake) fave was dark red though.

Mousey brown is as lifeless as a sloth shot 17 times in the head.
Then again there are too many girls with dyed blond that looks like straw - I never found Worsel Gummich attractive.

...i guess what I'm saying is: it depends.

    Short answer: blonde.
Long answer: it all depends on the person...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

Yeah... I'd have to agree with Zulu... and once there not too blonde aswell ;)
