[Request] DVD/SVCD player

    Hi,

    I'm after one for my sister for xmas. I need to be able to play Svcd's aswell and if possible DIVX, any players going for around 50 yoyo's or less? in the Dublin area

    Only Player I know off hand that plays Div-x is the Philips one, but it will cost more than €50.

    Try Dixons, not sure what the price is on this now. I bought one for €99 this summer, but I'm sure they've gone down since.

    Lidl dec 16th DVD player, recorder, VHS-DVD combi, all play DivX. Pick up one of the flyers for full details, there's not much detail on the website.

    yea the Lidl one looks good, plus has digitial camera card facility

    If its saying its Divx compatable, then that surely means it can play Svcd's? yes?

    yup it plays Svcd's too ... think i'll get one if ya dont like you can bring it back for a refund no questions asked. Google for reviews there's a few of them around with the full specs, they're in german.

    The only drawback I can see with this player is that it doesnt seem to have an upgradable firmware and it doesnt mention any multi region feature
