I've been asked this question so many times....on here and from people at home coming up for work placement.

    One word for you car_girl.....MAYNOOTH!

Maynooth is only 1 mile from Intel and bus and train's are a plenty to bring here, plus you the roost

No bother getting in to town with train/bus/nitelink.

Maynooth is a much nicer place to live in than Leixlip (no offence to Leixlip people)....anyone I know on work placement in Intel that move to Leixlip end up spending most of their time in Maynooth anyway.

There's a University here sure! It's good craic. Dead enough during the summer alright when all the students go home.

Accomodation is easy to find and it's cheap enough. Go to www.daft.ie

Where are ye from? If you're used to a big city you'll get bored fast but Dublin is easy to get to.

Maybe ye should come up first and have a look around the locality of Intel and see what ye think?

I like living in Maynooth 'cos I'm a student, I don't know if I'd like it that much otherwise.

I really wouldn't move to Leixlip if I were you though.

    whats so bad about lexlip??

I'll probably get slated for this but Leixlip is less desireable - in my opinion - as it's got alot of houses but not alot in the actual centre - it's also a bit rougher in my experince. It has disc parking, major traffic jams and a big hill. :D Maynooth has its problems too but the main area is quite nice and it's got the college and everything attached to that.

Dunno about Leixlip but Maynooth has 24hr Tesco, a new Aldi and Tesco petrol station (opened yet?) - the latter being on your route to Intel.

I just think you'd have a better time in Maynooth car_girl.

I may be biased but I'd say Maynooth. Leixlip has lots more problems, break-ins etc and it's mostly huge housing estates etc so it's not all that welcoming. Maynooth has its problems too, it's not overly interesting but generally safer at night and stuff. Tesco petrol station opened last wednesday for those of you wondering
