If you use an vga/dvi adaptor to connect a dvi device to an svg port on a computer, will the picture quality be as good as if you connected to a regular dvi port, or will it be the same as if you had used a regular vga connection, or somewhere in between. I am going to install a tv tuner card with a dvi port. Am I correct…

I am going to install a tv tuner card with a dvi port. Am I correct in thinking that connecting a tft monitor to this port would allow me to view the tv only and not any other computer use? I think it is only for connecting a second monitor for this purpose.
