I know this has been brought up many times before, but I'm just really aggrivated with GLS. My order from dabs.com was shipped last thursday using the Euro 48 shipping which guarantees delivery within 2 working days. I still hadn't received anything yesterday so I called GLS. The first person said the package wasn't in Ireland, so I called them again. The next person was a snotty b*tch and asked why I was calling about it again. She then told me it was marked for delivery today. I got nothing today so I called them again, and i got the same person I got yesterday, who told me again the package wasn't in Ireland and to contact the sender. I called again and got another woman who said it hadn't been scanned since it reached the warehouse. She said she sent out a request (whatever that is) and she'd know the result tomorrow. So I've to call back tomorrow. Now my moms starting to get annoyed at me saying the internet isn't safe to order off.

I know this has happened to many people before, but I just needed to get this off my chest.

I finally managed to get a tracking number to use on the GLS website off GLS. Doesn't hold any hope for me. It says..
    04 2004-12-03 19:12 Arrival At Destination Ireland
    09 2004-12-03 19:12 Misrouted Parcel Ireland
01 2004-12-02 20:00 Parcel Left Origin Cntry. United Kingdom
Should I contact dabs and ask them to resend the package, or hold out for GLS to deliver?

    Thanks.

You'd be much better off phoning them. Sitting and waiting is probably not wise. ;)

Oh, and if you paid for 48 hour delivery, you're entitled to compensation if it doesn't arrive within 48 hours. :)

You'd need to get in touch with ParcelForce for this.

As for that snotty bitch asking why you were phoning again....I would have thought that the answer was self evident....because they haven't given you your F*****G PACKAGE YET. Silly cow.

I've been on the phone to them 2-3 times a day since Wednesday. The most I've got out of them is "I'll send the warehouse a request and get back to you" In all fairness though, the girl who said that to me did call me today to say she hadn't heard back and would call me again on Monday.

I called GLS again today and I got a different person (heh, more than 3 people answer the phone) and he gave me the same old stuff. "I'll try find it and call you back in a few minutes" Over an hour gone and I still havn't heard anything back. I just gave my mom the number, maybe she can do something. I'm beginning to think it just, like, disappeared.

That sounds suspiciously like the stuff they kept telling me before finally saying "The package is missing. Bye".

Great, thats the last thing I want to hear. Looks like I'll be asking Dabs to resend the package, which they probably wont.

oh please please not another GLS thread. Lets just face it there ****!!

Nah, don't give up hope. Stay in contact with them. Whenever you ring, ask for someone's name first (full name, if you can). If you're not getting a satisfactory response, ask to speak to a mananger. This puts the ****s up most people and they'll put in more effort. If the manager is any good and you get through to him/her, he/she should get things sorted for you. Complain complaing complaint. It sounds negative, but it's the only way some companies will get anything done to be perfectly honest.

If you're not getting anywhere with GLS, ring Dabs and give out. You ordered, you're paying good money, and you're paying for shipping. You don't have to put up with it sitting lost in some poxy GLS warehouse.

Got a phone call from GLS just before my exam in school telling me they got a response from the warehouse. She said it was package missing or something and i should either contact the sender or parcelforce for compensation.

Just a thing, why did you pay 48 euro for GLS to send it too you

Surely you should have picked UPS, fedEX or someone similar (i.e. competent)

Ignore if dabs dosent deal with those companies

I only ahve experience with gls from komplett (the 10 euro standrad delivery) and ahve had bo problems, although i do deliver to a place of business

I didn't pay 48 euro for GLS to deliver it. Thats the name of the service.

I just got an email back from dabs.com saying:
    Hi

Thank you for your enquiry to dabs.com regarding the whereabouts of your recent order.

On conclusion of an investigation with our carrier, Parcel Force, we have now been advised that they're unfortunately unable to trace your delivery. We thank you for your patience whilst this matter was investigated and wholeheartedly apologise for any inconvenience this issue has caused.

dabs.com ships many thousands of parcels every day and whilst not a common occurrence, a 'lost in transit' situation does sometimes arise.

We will of course arrange to either refund or replace the missing goods for you. Please could you advise by return which you'd prefer.

    With warmest regards

    dabs.com customer services team

So I'm happy to say the least. I'm gonna order them off Komplett. It may be more expensive, but at least they offer more delivery options that dabs.

Janey, that's more than I ever got. It took them 8-9 months to accept the order was missing. It took them 11 months to process a chargeback. If one person in the email queue could actually read, I'm convinced it would have all been solved in a couple of weeks.

Hope it doesn't take them 11 months to do the chargeback.

    EDIT: Just recieved another email.
    Hi

The refund in question has now been issued to your credit/debit card.

Please accept our apologies for any delay and the inconvenience this may have caused.

    With warmest regards

All in all, my experience with dabs has been pretty good. If they used a different delivery company I'd use them again, but not before.

I knew it, typical GLS telltale signs something has gone missing. At least it was handled quickly by Dabs and you'll be able to reorder (elsewhere?).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,322 ✭✭✭bennyx_o

Yea, I'm going order from Komplett and use the DHL delivery. Fair play to Dabs though.

I recieved my parcel today from GLS surprisingly on time, the order left jes on Friday its the first delivery from them that has actually gone well. In saying that i got the ****s put up me earlier when i was checking the status and it said misrouted parcel, every single order i make gets misrouted at some stage or another with GLS.
