<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">It is announced that Robin has left Cradle of Filth for personal reasons. He feels that he has other things in his life that he wants to pursue and he cannot commit enough time to the band as needed. There are no hard feelings between the band or Robin, as stated he left the band for his reasons. It is very amicable and he will help out if we should need him to.

God damn it... This has just depressed me now.

He was easily one of the greatest bass players who has ever lived.
Man, will I sorely miss him.

Also having known the guy, the sting is twice bad...

Quite sad news, he was a great bass player. Since were on the topic of Cradle I hope their next album will be better than Midian was. Don't get me wrong Midian was an excellent album but....I really didn't like the sound of the guitars, they sounded to bassy, to much like Death Metal guitars as opposed to Black Metal and some of the riffs were lacking in comparison to the older stuff. I liked the regular vocals, not as many screamy passages, but some of Danis new vocal styles were not so good. The drums were lacking a bit to, overall not a scratch on POEMF or Cruelty (their 2 best IMO).

It's real saving grace was "Her Ghost In The Fog", a classic song.

What's your opinion Angel ?, do you think I'm talking shíte (again) smile.gif hehe.

But oh, no tears please, fear and pain may acompany death, but it is desire that sheperds its certainty, as we shall see...

Well... I liked Midian, but to be honest, it wasn't their best.

Dusk And Her Embrace OWNED! biggrin.gif

Really like V Empire too though.

But, as you know, each album has it's own distinct "Ambience" to it.

And the new one is a bit different.
Not in a bad way though, mind you. biggrin.gif

The drums on Midian were extremely lacking, especialy compared to Adrian's older work with At The Gates.
But, on the new album, he REALLY has gotten back to his old self, and the drums are truly fantastic!

It's very hard to describe the album at all, you really do have to listen to it.
I didn't quite like it at first, but you really have to listen to it before you begin to enjoy it, they do quite a bit of experimenting on it.

But, it isn't quite a full album, more of an extended EP.
Best song on it is Suicide And Other Comforts... WOW!!!
It's probably the best album I've heard in months though.

And Dani does quite a bit more clean vocals than he did in Midian, which is nice.

"NightWish" for me, although (Ask Angel for proof) I am not one for this type of music...

In fact I'd rather a good bash at "The Crystal Method" than this... Anyway... Sorry to hear the man go... Don't ring me for a shoulder to cry on Angel mad.gifbiggrin.gif

    OH NO! NOT ROBIN!

Easily one of the best bass players in the world once you discount the likes of Les Claypool, John Paul Jones....

Also their work went downhill ever since "All hail the mystical faeries and daemons of the undead beast crawling through the ether in a mood most foul"

    Rob.

"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die".

Les is cool and all, but I cannot stand his music.
Remind me again who John Paul Jones is...

    Led Zeppelin.

It's amazing how many of the worlds greatest bass/viola/kazoo players tend to inhabit black metal bands. Perhaps they're so overwhelmed with genius? smile.gif

AH! Thats him... Couldn't think of who he was there...

Although I detect, perhaps a slight hint of sarcasm in your replies... I might think that Black Metal isn't exactly your thing?

I'd say possibly the best all round musicians would be Jazz and Blues players.
Well, from a technical point of view, that is.
But, it's all scales and stuff like that... Basically, you could train a monkey to do it.

But, most of the greatest drummers are in Black Metal.
Nick Barker own all... He's fantastic, and quite unorthodox.

While MayheM's HellHammer is in the Guinness Book Of World Records as being the fastest drummer. But his military style drumming isn't quite my thing.

It's Black Metal actually and the second part of Robin's psuedo-name was Graves (well it was for Midian). Put it together and you get......

Robin Graves eek.gif does that fit the BM scene a bit better ? smile.gif.

AngelWhore...I saw that new EP ages ago succubi something or other, couldn't be arsed paying that kinda cash for an EP smile.gif.

It's a pity that thread about the best guitarist isn't still here.
Then I could probably quote you saying basically the same thing.

What was it again... Your opinion was that The Edge from U2 was the best, and stating that you could train any fool to do all the hammer-ons and scales like those blues guitarists.

Why am I bothering arguing with you anyway?
I know well your just saying this for trolling, ****s and giggles and all... biggrin.gif

    Fair enough anyway...

And, Black Wizard, it's not really an EP, just not a proper album.
Well worth the cash, I asure you.
    6 new tracks.
3 re-recordings from Principle Of Evil...
    1 Cover Song.
    Nearly an hour long...
Bit more than an EP there m8.
    It's truly fantastic!
