I'm planning on buying a 5.1 system, I have a MSI K8N Neo mobo which has 7.1 capable sound built in, it's Realtek AC 97 2.3 audio. basically I'm asking do I need a sound card, and if so what's a cheap decent one? I do have an old Aureal Vortex 2 knocking around but that takes fiddling with to get it working in xp and I'm…

You dont need a sound card but onboard sound card quality is diabolical
