how is your pc connected to the isdn box?

it is connected to the isdn modem through usb and then network cabel from the modem to isdn plug and play unit.

I think the problem is with usb connection and win xp.

setup seems ok. same as mine before i got broadband.
ok, maybe its ur usb but not sure.
have you used other usb devices before?
and if so, do u still use them? are they still plugged in aswell?
or are u using a usb hub?

Without taking from the original problem, I've had an issue recently (well since October - but I've had broadband at work so I was okay)

Whenever I connected to the internet before October, I connected at 128kb/s.

However, at some stage during October, this went pear shaped, and now I can only connect at 64kb/s

Is this a problem with the modem my end or Eircom's problem?

Regarding the original problem, I have never encounted it.

if you have two (phone) lines setup on your isdn plug and play box then you can only surf at 64

if you have 1 line setup then you can surk at 128
if you get an incomming call this drops to 64 for the duration of the call if the phone is also connected to the modem (only works for some modems, i think)

    my situation @ home is
2 telephone lines (2 different numbers: phone & fax)
network cable via isdn modem to isdn plub & play

i can surf net at 64kbps (woo hoo) and still have 2 seperate lines for fone & fax
