I have gotten 2 H120's from this guy no problems arrived in 3 days. He gives you the adaptor for the unit. It is the US model.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=69947&item=5736308244

    €479 in peats
    £269 on MX

Looking at other ebay offers, it can be got as low as €270 or €255 (if nobody "buys it now") delivered, don't know what their service is like though.

Wtach out, US H3xx palyers are crippled. They can't record and they don't have USB On-The-Go. Most people in the US are buying their H3xx players from europe.

Any links on this? Never heard of it, can you not simply update the firmware?

Big thread about it here on MisticRiver the iRiver fan site.

Basically the US version can play DRM files (using USB 1.1 and Windows Media Player 10 only), the EU version can't paly DRM files.

However because of this the US version of the iRiver loses USB On-The-Go functionality, WAV playback and recording and movie palyback :(

But is it still not a good price for a music player?

It's a great price for what you are getting really. Although another €45 will get you a 40GB H1XX. Choice is yours.

Rumours have it that the firmwave will add USB OTG and Video playback. I haven't really read into the facts yet though.

Check misticriver.net for info, I saw a few threads titled "USB OTG WORKS ON MY US VERSION" and "VIDEO PLAYBACK ON MY US H3XX" etc

Done through firmware, may invalidate the warranty. But what will a warranty mean anyway if you get from somebody off EBAY??? I'm not too sure of that myself.

for €365 you can have the new iriver pmp 120 delivered, which makes the colour ipod obsolete before you can even get them
    €447 for the 40GB version

"Easy-to-use external disk with USB 2.0
This easy-to-use external disk reduces waiting time with a faster transfer rate
By supporting the USB 2.0 interface, the player can transfer data at a maximum speed of 480Mbps. Since interfacing does not require a separate manager program as the player is recognized as a portable data storage, its use as an external hard disk is made even easier."

Can someone clarifty for me does this mean I can hook it up to my digital camera and download images directly from carem to iriver for storage with the need for a pc?

If it can't does anyone know if this is likely in the newer models in near furture. I would be realy handy for me traveling and I will get one if it can do this ?

    thanks

with EU version and if your camera doesnt need drivers installed to be recognised.

Canon cameras don't work, they need to be a USB mass storage device, most other camera brands are.

This is a work around however.

    1) Get a portable (small) Compact Flash card reader.
    2) Plug it into the iRiver H3xx.
    3) Remove the Compact Flash card from the Canon camera
    4) Put the compact Flash card into the card reader attached to the H3xx.
    5) You can now copy the pictures off of the Compact Flash card as it is a USB Mass Storage device.

Same as I described above for the CF cards, just get a card reader for them.

However your camera may not need that, most cameras can connect directly to the iriver.

they were on ebay, gone now but this is another for even cheaper

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48683&item=5737985194&rd=1

that is $375 as a buy it now. quotes $15 post to US, so even if he charges $100 postage it is still under €365, does seem very cheap so check his ratings remarks, it seemed good.

Most are going for about $435 ex post on ebay

Anyone tell me how long it takes for you to get a reply from them saying the order has been recieved.I ordered the mp3 player from them yesterday and still havent recieved an email.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Give them a ring and check it out, maybe you didn't provide enough CC details like the 3 digit number etc? That happened my bro, but he ordered it again on either Thursday or Friday and got it yesterday (monday) which is pretty good:) he got the 340. nice piece of work, upgrade the firmware straight away and you can play videos on it! I thought the quality would be poop but it impressed me greatly.
