Supply and demand Dave, you can bet you're the 10,000 fan to look at booking those flights on that weekend. But hey if I'd a ticket I'd go!

I'm afraid i'm going to have to agree with Dub here.....139 for a six nations weekend flight is peanuts....everywhere increases their prices for these weekends....the guest house i work is nearly full already for the english match weekend and the prices are at our max rates.

    ????

The link between Ryanair style marketing of low cost flights and ticket touts is tenuous to say the least. The price of those really cheap flights will go up every week as it gets closer to the actual date, if you tried to book one of them 2 days before the price would be similar to what you quote for the match weekend. They know people will be checking flights well in advance for match weekends so they dont reduce the price in advance.

Yea I realise you were trying to link the supply and demand comment to the touts argument, i still think its tenuous. That's the way flights work online, if you book early for a weekend far in advance you usually get a cheap flight except when it is obviously going to be a busy weekend, its how they sell tickets to less fashionable destinations. Fair enough you dont like it but its not a 'Rip off', they cant be blamed for looking ahead and seeing there will be more demand for flights on certain weekends, in fact it would be negligent of them not to. If you think they could operate while charging twenty nine euro for every seat on every flight to the UK then it's a good thing your not in charge of AerLingus. ;)

Do they??!?! No of course i dont agree with that, your focusing on one small phrase that I used in my arguement. Not my point as a whole. I don't think supply and demand justifies anything and everything. The point i was trying to make is that 29 euro is extremely cheap for a flight to England. You wouldn't get the train to Cork for that. You wont be able to book those flights for that price coming up to the dates shown, its the way online flights work as far as i can see. Which is totally unlike Pubs who are supposed to have a set price, it is not supposed to go up and down.

But Dave, there are a limited number of flights over and a limited number of seats on them - so high demand leads to high prices.

Please god don't tell me the pubs are going to run out of beer on a six nations weekend........ :D

I'm living in West Wales at the moment. I usually fly through Birmingham and get the train. You can probably try that?
