I have the chance of getting a second hand laptop but I want to make sure the specs are ok for what I need it for.

I'm probably going to be using for college stuff mainly, which would consist of quark 4, photoshop 7 on and other basics like word. What kind of screen size and memory would I need to get these working to any useful level? I'm terrible when it comes to stuff like this, I can never figure out what is the best for the job.
Graphics cards arent a big deal, once it's half decent and the hard drive wouldnt have to be huge so again thats not much of a problem.

I'm mainly looking for info on a suitable processor as well as memory.

By the sounds of it, a basic package with about 128MB RAM, 20GB hard disk and a processor in the Pentium 3 850khz+ range would do you, IMO.

Don't forget also to factor in the OS, w98 XP etc. For anything, 32MB was the min on w98, 128MB on XP. For graphics work, you're probably looking at double that or more.
