Match of the Day 2 in widescreen

Has anybody noticed that match of the day 2 on BBC2 on sunday nights is being broadcast in full widescreen on analogue terrestrial from time to time? It makes the players look like ants on a 14 inch 4:3 portable but it seems to work on a 28 inch widescreen tv if you use the 'zoom' setting, since football moves horizontally, plus you can see more of whats going on the pitch. By doing this is the Beeb preparing us for full instead of 14:9 widescreen on analogue?

when i was stuck with just analogue i thought it was great that they did this. but i do watch everything in widescreen when possible no matter how big the tv is.

i dont think its the BBC preparing everyone for widescreen because during the program there is a lot of stats and stuff like that to the side of the screen
