Muse... too bad, how sad, it's dead.

Yet another victim in the fallout from the Eircom cutbacks, Muse, the music webzine that has been running successfully for the last 3 1/2 years has published its final issue at www.muse.ie.

The last issue features French musical maestro's, Air, and the Stereo MC's.

The same thing is now happening, by the way, to MovieMate (the reincarnation of Doras Movies) at www.moviemate.ie

Now while I may have thought their editorial style at times were a complete load of ar$e and the design (of Muse) threw up some usability issues (white text on an off-yellow background, anyone? ), it IS a shame to see Irish web publications die off like this simply because of the apparent incompetence of their parent company.

hmm both the band and the webpage are pretty terrible tbh.

I never did like the style of writing that came to the fore the one or two times i happened upon the site, too much of a journalistic edge to it, i.e. all cliches and fancy expressions rather than telling us what music it bloody compares to

The other site you mentioned MovieMate I have never heard of, and having been involved with film societies for about three years now, thats pretty strange, so I conclude that they were never much to talk about.

As ar as Irish entertainment sites go I just stick to wow or entertainmentireland, cinema listings, yoink, thank you very much, and ill make up my own mind about everything else.
