    hey there,
i was wondering is anyone feeling the same way as i am. i am doing a science course in ul and i love it but the moment i just so sick of it!the workload is killing me. everyweek we have labs to hand up and a some project for a module to do. i am exhausted and my social life is no-existent. i am doing a chemistry module that is so demanding i am supposed to read books every evening just to get to grasps with the lecture and write up notes. I am utterly wrecked tired and feel like giving up. I wish this was because i was out drinking every evening but its not its because im in the library evening trying to write up notes and do homework. People think you are a freak also if u are doing science and i just feel so helpless. Any help?or support i just feel like dropping out

    I know how you feel!

Unfortunately all science courses seem to be like that.

I'm doing sports science in DCU and the workload is unreal. I'm so behind on my anatomy and biomolecules and metabolism modules that I don't know what I'm going to do! I'm in a complete panic at the moment. I've two exams in week 12 and I haven't a hope of doing well in either I'm that far behind. Not to mention my data analysis and statistics final in two weeks too.

My first proper night out in months was on Friday for my 21st and I couldn't even go all out for that as I've so much to do.

Unlike Business/Arts students we've no reading week either where we can catch up on notes etc. I guess that's because there's just no time for such a thing!

    What year are you in?

Can you talk to a tutor or course head or anything about the workload, maybe they'll be able to help ease your mind etc.

im in second year i wish i was back in first year!what about yourself?thanks for that bit of assurance anyway that im not the only one. Its just really really hard these days cause i play several sports and they are my relaxation for the day, if i get an hour of one in a day. but now i can hardly get to one of them cause i have so much stuff to do. Never mind the exams about after christmas. I just feel im missing out on college life and is it going to be worth it. To be honest though i hear sports science is way worse

Hehe! the hours are monster for Sports Science. Our labs aren't included in our timetable we've to arrange them for outside college hours, plus we're expected to do extra testing etc. So there's very little time to enjoy college life.

I'm injured at the moment so can't even get to do sport for relaxation purposes. I'm like a caged tiger at the moment! Although I guess I have more "free" time as a result.

    I'm in second year too.

There's a UL forum here on boards too if you're interested, there may be other people from your course on it. You may find more support there, even people to advise how best to tackle it all.

The board is here. Might be no harm in checking it out.

I'm doing a bioscience course at the moment in Maynooth which isn't difficult at all (I'm in 1st year, is it always this way?). The most difficult part is the computer science.
