well, sorry to clog up the board with stupid topics but some input would be appreciated!Im getting what will be my first digi camera this christmas and i was looking around for a camera. The main feature i want is size. I want an almost phone sized camera which will fit in my pocket and be carried around easily. And im not looking for professional photography here!Just a decent camera for everyday photos. So after some searching i came across this :
    http://www.digiwowo.net/language/english/index.htm

So can anyone tell me the quality of this camera? The price looks very nice for such a small little yoke.

    Thanks

you linked to the homepage of that site not the individual camera page

also, that site is apparantly a bit of a scam so don't buy from it if you believe the stories at dpreview.com and read this too:

i would avoid that model as it has a digital zoom and no real optical zoom. digital zoom is pointless in my opinion

any suggestions along the same lines then?

again, im only intrested in a recreational camera so to speak.

can anyone recommend some good sites i could buy from so i can see whats availible to me?

www.dpreview.com is probably the best for reviews for all digital cameras.

only people who've used lots of cameras such as them can give impartial reviews

    thanks for the info dot.

the camera's only downfall seems to be the lack of optical zoom. How important is an optical zoom? With a 4MP camera, will digi zoom not do the job to a certain degree?

digital zoom is just a way of the camera cropping the image then resizing it bigger. you can do the same thing with any bit of image editing software. if you never print bigger than 6x4 and you don't bother editing your photos or printing them, then digital zoom might be used but a camera with an optical zoom will give much better results for any kind of subject far away from the camera.

personally, i've been using Canon equipment for well over 10 years and would reccomend it. if i was buying a compact digital camera, i'd go for at least 4 megapixels, a long battery life, small camera

    probably something like:

you've convinced me with the optical zoom.Im not looking at this from here
Best of both worlds. Small, and has optical zoom etc.
    Small.(very)
    4MP
    3x Optical Zoom
    Nice enough price.
