Hasn't been many new threads/messages in a while which is a shame because this is a forum which could be very useful and profitable to people, escpecially given the nature of horse racing in Ireland.

Well let's try to get something started.

After the excellent Moscow Flyer vs. Azertyuiop duel yesterday, today we have Beef Or Salmon vs. Kicking King. Any opinions on this one? Even though Beefy beat him 3.5 lengths last month, this 4f shorter trip will suit Kicking King better. With the way he completely outjumped his rivals for most of that race, I can see Geraghty stealing a march leaving the back straight and Beefy closing but not quite catching him in the last 2 furlongs. Kicking King to win by 2 lengths.

Also, at 1:10, the highly regarded Martinstown makes his hurdling debut - should be a good watch.

Yeah it is certainly going to be an exciting race, kicking king's plan is for the gold cup, and last time out he showed a big improvment over a longer distance, tomorrows trip should suit him better, but beef or salmon has been victorius over the trip before aswell, rathgar beau shouldnt be ruled out either, he has shown good form over the distance, and was far from disgraced when finishing two lengths behing kicking king at gowran in october. Cant wait for this tommorow, i see these three coming home together, with kicking king prevailing over the beef, with rathgar beau not too far behind third.

I agree with a lot of that. Kicking King's involvment in the Gold cup will depend a lot on how he fares today. He seems to keep on improving and I have a sneaky feeling that he'll be leading over the final fence today and just might touch off beefie by a short head. I think he'll be one of two second favourites to turn over the jollies today. Take a look at your a gasman in the 2.20 at kelso also.

I quite like the look of Balapour in the 3.10 in Ireland too...he's carrying top weight but if he improve his jumping he should be able to take care of these.

    ah no

    Burntoakboy 13.40 Punchestown ... useless!
Kicking King 14.10 Punch ... Won
Gassman 14.20 Kelso ... Won, only small wager
    Balapour 15.10 Punch ... fell 2 out!!!

    overall a modest loss...

So what next for Kicking King, Tom Taffee is aiming him for the King george at christmas, id say the ericsson chase would be a better test of his abilities, with the added factor of a possible clash with Best mate, but Taffe seems more keen on Kempton. Either way i think il be having a little wager on kicking king each-way for the gold cup.
