Problems with recording on CR-R's

    Hi all,

Can someone help a novice? I have recently gone broadband and have been downloading music. However, when I used Win media player 9 to burn a few CD's, it won't recgnise that I have a blank CD in the rewriter. I also tried using Ahead Nero (the software that came with the rewriter) and it tells me there is insufficient space on the disc. I checked the properties of the drive and it displays the CD as being full but they are all brand new and unused. I also did the same thing with the basic CD-Rom I have on the PC and it also told me the CD was full. Am I doing something wrong? The drive reads all other CD's so I don't believe there is a problem with it.

I am running Win 2K Pro and Office XP Pro and the rewriter has previously worked fine for me. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be?

    Thanks in advance.

Probably a problem with the drivers you are using for the drive. Try get new drivers, it may also be an issue with the XP packet software, try disabling that.

Thsnks John - I do feel it's a software problem. I'll try uninstalling Ahead Nero and reloading it.
