For my 21st we had at my place, we got a tap and a couple kegs off a local pub no problem! If you go in and ask in your local they would prob sort ya out or get you in touch with someone who can!

Hope the party goes well :)

    How much did that cost?

the kegs were about €100 each i think, dont quote me on that, i dont know how much the rental for the tap was cause the bar owner didt charger us for it, nice divil that he is, this is down in cork mind, i dunno where the original poster is from and prices may be different.

Seems to be more expensive than buying crates of cans. Although kegs at a party are cool.

ah but theres a certain satisfaction in pulling yourself a nice pint rather than pouring it outta a can!

and when your locked you can laugh at your buddys trying to pull pints!!

Goto the Guinness Brewery shop. They sell kegs there. They're costly (about €110 for a keg of beer, €90 for Guinness, me thinks).

When you do get them, tell us how much they were.

Not sure where these figures are coming from on the kegs. The cost price of a 50 litre keg from Diagio is roughly €150.

Go to your local and ask if they can organise a “Party Pack” for you. Tell them how many kegs you will require and get a price. One thing to remember – it is easier to stick with one brewery if you are getting more than one type of beer as each brewery has different connections fro kegs and gas etc. So keep the likes of Guinness, Bud, Carlsberg and Smithwicks together. Then there is Heineken and Murphy’s as another group and Miller and Beamish as a group.

The “Party Packs” are often supplied free but keep in mind that they need to be set up by someone who knows what they are doing. Otherwise you will have a massive amount of waste on your hands due to “big heads” on the pints being pulled. Also, kegs are heavy as is the cooler when filled with water so transportation may need to be arranged.

Kegs last time I checked cost €119 plus Vat, and as for a party there very awkard to set up!, its to do with the cooling system, Budweisser is nearly impossible because the gas level is so high where as Guinness is the easyiest.

Those taps can be difficult to use and I'm unaware of anyplace hiring them. Last time I used them I found great difficulty in getting hold of two taps because most publicans are afraid of getting them back busted as there very expensive to buy.

But if you can get hold of a set have them professionaly installed and I'm sure you'll have a great party.
