    Hey guys & girls,

Does anyone know the price of this in & maybe a name of a place in Cork that install it? I've rang Flor Griffin & Soundstore yet neither can give me any information or definite prices and they can't send me out information on it. I rang the number on Sky.com & they guy told me the prices are somewhere on the site & that they won't post or fax me info.. WTF??

Anybody have any info on it, price wise??

Hi Danni to get sky plus the cost is €299 that is for a 40GB box
The new 160GB is around €599 not sure if that box is in ireland yet.
The sky packages are as follows
    Sky Entertainment Pack €28.50
    Sky Sports World €50.50
    Sky Movie World €53.50
    Sky World €62.50
Also you can get multi room for €199 but thats one sub plus €15 for the second. I stand to be corected on that one.
If you take sky movie package or the sports the record feature is free.
If you go for the lower package sky charge €15 for the use of the record function. I dont know any body in cork who can help you but im sure some body here in the Boards.ie can direct you in the right direction.
I hope that helps you a little bit.

Well here my estimate based on info from their site http://www.sky.com/skycom/article/0,,91069-1130664,00.html

Sky Digital equipment (digibox, minidish) - Free with sub
    Sky Digital installation - €75
    Sky + box - €199
    Sky + intallation - €100
Most basic sub - €20 per month
    sky + sub - €15 per month

Which is €794 before vat for the year :-(

NB You can waive the installation costs & monthly sky+ sub if you subscribe to the Sky World + Family Pack for about €62.50 (€949 before vat)

I have to say i want PVR capabilties of sky+ as well, but when i compare it to ntl current cost of €40 for 2 months. (€240 incl vat), i get a little put off.

Has anyone been able to get of the other PVR systems (http://www.pvruk.co.uk/products.cfm) working with ntl in ireland?

Here are the latest offer from the Sky website

Thats a regular Sky digibox and a Sky + box and free minidish + free installation

When you subscribe to the Sky World and Family package (€62.50 per month). Add €15 per month extra subscription for the second TV giving you the flexibility to watch two different channels at the same time in different rooms.

    Have a look at www.sky.com

I would be wary of going with Sky direct. Their installers are very wary of doing multiroom jobs as they take up lots of time as they are self employed this eats into their earnings. Better fror them to do a few easy jobs than 1 long one. Beware of tricks used not to do the job, such as showing up without all the relevant equipment.

Use an independant as they can meet the same sky price and often are way faster and offer a more personal service.

    Buyer Beware!

This is not so at least not in my case, the sky subsidy payment does not ,and never has covered the extra work, thats assuming that we get paid on every occasion which we sometimes dont. Most retailers can offer you the cash back option however as the is no potential financial loss on the retailers part.
