    basicaly im in rented accomadtion
    the previous tenants had broadband
the landlord told me this and there is a dsl socket in the house

im wondering why wouldthis line fail the dsl line checker on esat and eirocms site?

is there anything i can do to get the broadband turned back on or reinstalled?
any help or anyone with an idea of whats going on will be much appreciated :)

no worries, I had to wait 4 weeks until the check worked fine, you have to get this done by eircom though, real bitch if you ask me though

Isn't there some ****e if you ask Eircom to do a test and it passes, that they allocate that port for you and you can't go to another provider without going through some obscure process to get the port unallocated?

so shortly after this thread i managed to pass the test
so i ordered online with esatbt
rang them up to check a few days later and they lost my order.
    ordered over the phone
    rang once a week afterwards
    everything fine
    rang today
    theyve lost my order
so they can put it thru again
    nope
they need me to get my bank details and my eircom account number
so i ring eircom [grrrr] and the bank and get the info
    ring back to order
    i cant have bb
    why not?
    line failed :/

    help me please.
its been a long time since all this bs started.
if anyone works in eircom or esat and can help me get this sorted I will do anything, anything at all to repay the debt.
