    Hello all.

Am set to buy a laptop this weekend. Am here for a second opinion as i'm stuck between two models:

    TOSHIBA EQUIUM A60-155

    Price: £699.99

    Specs:
    - Intel Celeron 335 2.8GHz processor
    - 533 MHz FSB
    - 256 Kb cache
    - 256 Mb RAM
    - 40 Gb Hard Drive
    - DVD-RW Super Multi Drive
    - 15" TFT display
    - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    - 64 Mb ATi Radeon integrated graphics
    - 1 Year FREE warranty

    PACKARD BELL F7305/P

    Price: £749.99

    Specs:
    - Mobile Intel Pentium 4 532 3.06 GHz
    - 533 MHz FSB
    - 512 Kb cache
    - 256 Mb RAM
    - 40 Gb Hard Drive
    - DVD-RW Multi Drive
    - 15.1" TFT display
    - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    - 64 Mb SiS M661FX integrated graphics
    - 1 Year FREE warranty

What does everyone think? Do you all think the Packard Bell is worth the extra E70 or so?... or should i stick with the Toshiba? In my opinion, it seems like the Packard Bell is worth the extra E70..

    So, whatcha think?

The links you gave aren't working because of session timeouts (I f*cking HATE sites that use session ids like this) but going from the simple description you gave, go for the Pentium over the Celeron if it's only 70e in the difference.
You WILL see the difference! :)

i'd also go for pentium over celeron BUT you've mentioned that the pentium machine is a packard bell and i've seen lots of threads on this board saying that packard bell machines are more trouble than they're worth.

PC World have a decent offer on a pentium 4 toshiba machine at the moment, 999 and free printer.

    Cheers lads!

    Apologies about the dead links!

Regarding that PC World offer, it's the same Toshiba laptop for E999 (with the free printer) as i have linked to above. I rang the Blanchardstown branch on Monday and they said they had only one left and it's the display model.

But the link above is selling it for E1018 without the free printer (not too bad..)

But i still think i'll get the Packard Bell one. Thanks again.

PS - because the links are dead, i've posted the specs and a picture of both above for reference.

Sorry.. you're right! The Toshiba is a Celeron... my mistake! I'll update the specs!

EDIT: Specs are now updated and correct!

EDIT 2: You're right.. the one on offer in PCWorld last weekend was a Pentium 4 (A60-152)... the version i've linked to a version higher (A60-155) that comes with a Celeron.
