    Hi All!
Posted earlier in the week (see thread no satellite signal) and have since determined that the digibox is fine. As I still have no signal just wondering what the general thought is as to the likely cause of the problem. Has anybody had a dish or LNB fail?

P.S. Thanks Tony for the quick response to the first thread.

could still be either dish alignment , lnb or cable fault

dish unlikely to fail - it's dumb - can only be misaligned. cable would be the first bet (and cheapest). you could test it by getting a multimeter at one end, from centre to connector, and getting someone at the other end to short out the centre to the connector with a wire, or by holding the centre to the connector. Check for continuity, if none it'll indicate a break in the cable.
if the cable is good make sure you're dish hasn't moved.... otherwise sounds like an LNB....

Good idea but unfortunately a continuity test will not show up impedance mis match or swr (reflection issues)

Astra 2 is the easiest sat to set up. It should`nt be to hard to get it in. Move the dish very slowly. There is a sat meter built in. get someone to shout to you when you get a strong signal.
