The Kestrel model flying club have got themselves a new flying field near Brittas off the Blessington road.
The new field is being prepared (flattening runway etc) next couple of weeks, then it's all go go go ;)
This club has glowfuel fliers, electric fliers and glider-soaring fliers, so it is quite a mixed bunch and the social side is pretty good.
Why am I mentioning this ... ? There are places for some new members, thats why.
If you want a place to fly with a nice runway, less than 8 miles from O'Connells Bridge, Dublin city centre ... get in touch before it's full up again.
The club treasurer's email is norman@greenhobbymodel.com

    Instructors available ... yes

Instruction cost ... free (they are all pals here)

Club trainer ... no ... you fly your own plane, and are responsible for its maintenance. Though folks are lending models to trusted fellow members for a flight all the time.

Club transmitter ... various members have buddy leads ... if convenient they are available for beginners to use. We don't find them so good as the books say though, at a safe height there is lots of time to pass a radio back & forth from instructor to learner & back again. This inspires confidence, and while the learner has the model, they really have it, all of it. The buddy lead does get used when they are trying low flight for first times.

membership adults € 135 year, which includes the MACI insurance of € 60.
    juniors half price

Bar-B Que twice a year , fun fly once or twice a year.
