Question bout HP1730

I recently sent my HP 1702 flatscreen back to HP as a dead pixel turned up on the screen and it was only 6 months old. To my surprise the replacement was a HP 1730 flatscreen, with built in speakers and it can also pivot 90degrees. I also noticed that it has a digital connection in the back of it aswell as the standard VGA connection.
I have an Nvidia GeForce4 MX440 128MB card that also has a digital connection. I didn't get a digital cable with the monitor but was wondering if I do go out and buy one would it make any difference in the quality of the pic or is it worth it?

    Thanks
    Japs
