Hi again,

Didnt get much response to my first thread but i did promise to post some of my work. Here is a Subaru Impreza, this was in its in-progress stat, it is finished now and when i get a chance i will upload pis of the completed thing.















Opinions appreciated.

apologies for that I moved my pics to a different hosting site and forgot about here...pics should be working again. Not sure the fact that the pics werent showing had anything to do with it. It already had plenty of views but no replies. So now the pics are back lets see what happens

Looking good, I like the paint job especially.

How many base coats did you have to put on?

cheers fobia, I must put up pics of the finished thing. As for the coats I cant quite remember because I had terrible trouble trying to paint it. This was only my second full model to complete and my first time using Tamiya spray cans. I know there were 2 grey primer coats and I seem to remember 2-3 mist coats and 2 wet coats.

Painting the bodies is something I still havent quite got the hang of, at the moment my Alfa 155 Jagermeister is sitting in brake fluid for a second time. The last time I painted it on the very last coat I got it to heavy on one side and got some air bubbles, I was rightly p***ed off cause the rest of the body had a great shine to it.

Very nice, did you build it just for aesthetic value or do you plan on racing that baby?

Fobia, It is purely a curbside model (no engine detail). It is built from a Tamiya plastic kit. I have a stack of them ready to be built

Did you use an airbrush, or did you use the spray cans with masking?

For the body I used a spraycan, Tamiya TS-50 which is Mica Blue the exact match for a Subaru Impreza WRX. Not much masking to be done apart from when the window edges need to be done. The interior was done with mostly an airbrush.

I have recently started a Hasegawa Toyota Corrola WRX. Was thinking of posting an in-progress thread so people can see my build process not sure if anyone is interested.
