TV Licence, does it cover radio?

    Hi,

Im living in rented accomodation and am having trouble organising the hefty tax (aka licence fee) from my housemates. Some insist they DONT watch TV (arguable at the least), but all have wireless radios.

Can someone point me to a legal document online (wireless telegraphy act?) that states the licence covers radios?

It would save me a hell of a lot of arguments.

    Thanks in advance,
    Irishtwincam

erm afaik there is no licence needed to listen to a radio, else ppl would need them for everything - car, home, walkman, phone.....
pretty sure you're out of luck there, sorry...
now you do need one to TRANSMIT though...

afaik radio programming is funded by the tv license
but you dont need a license for the radio

so technically you cant really ask them for money on that basis

on the other hand who never watches tv?
make sure they never use it
get a cheapo tv card and say they cant use your computer aswell
