Double bass ba-boom!

I really want to buy a Double bass but I have no idea how to play it. I can play Bass, intermediate guitar, beginner piano, keyboards, cello etc. And anexpert on the tri-angle. I'm pretty musical.
Anyway, buying a double bass is a pretty heavy investment. €600 second hand and Lo-end strings at €40 each.
But does anybody know where I would be able to get lessons on somebodies Double bass? If I got, say, 10 lessons under my belt, I'd know if I could keep it up so then I could buy an upright myself.
    Thanks in advance. :)

There'd be at least one more if the damn things weren't so expensive...

Interesting believe-it-or-not factoid: the "digeridoo" sound in Rolf Harris' "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" is actually played by four double basses.

Try contacting the academy of music on westland row, they should give you the names of a couple of teachers in your area. there are 2-3 teachers in there aswell
