home network trouble

    Hi,

    My mother has Eircom broadband and connects through the standard Netopia (cayman 3300) ADSL modem. This works fine.

    I have got her a SMC Barricade G wireless router ( SMC2804WBRP-G ) and am trying to set her up a wireless network in the house.

    Forget about the wireless stuff for a bit, - for the moment I'm trying to get the two working over LAN. I can't get the SMC to dial through the Netopia and on to the broadband service.

    I am entering the PPPoe username & password in the SMC but it can connect (username & password are correct).

    The netopia is doing its own thing its setting the Loacl WAN ip to 213.94.183.251 & remote gateway to 213.94.176.1

    I can log on to both & change what ever settings - both which ones I need to change to get both working toghter is outside my range of knowledge.

    Can anyone advise?
