Server2003 Raid Problem

I just built a server but there is a problem. Windows see's my raid drivers as 1/10th their actual size, weird problem, I know.
I have 4 73gig drivers in a Raid 1e mode, 2 mirroring and the two striping. I downloaded the latest drivers from LSI (the scsi card is an LSI 1020 Ultra 320).
The raid configuration tool shows the drive's as their correct size even from within windows. But windows insists they are 10 times smaller. Anyone have anything I could try? Or have a similar problem? I have windows 2003 server standard edition.

This is my first try at building a server. Just spent hour's messing about with it so any help would be mucho appreciated!

    Windows should see 146Gigs

Raid 1 mirroring - 73Gig +73Gig= 146 but because mirror set os only see 73

Raid 0 stripping -73Gig +73Gig= 146 but because mirror set os only see 73

On both the os will only see one logical drive in every raid set-

I don't know much about the controller that you have and the tools that i uses - But the should be a Online version of ACU ( Array Configuration Utility) Is there any unassigned physical space in the raid set ?

Yes, windows only see's one physical drive. There are 4 73 gig, so we have 146 (2 73's striping) and 146 mirroring that. But window's just see's 14.6 gig. I will see if I can find ACU for my controller. No unassigned space that I can see.
    Thanks for the reply.

I take it when you say windows can only see 14GB you mean from disk administrator and not explorer (right click My Computer - Manage - storage - disk management - etc.)
AFAIK the initial part of setup for NT/2K could only recognise up to 8GB

Disk Admin and explorer match. Both say 14.6gig.

what size is your logical drive that the controller sees?

I'm not talking about the total array size - but on the array you will need to create your logical drives and specify how much drive space your are going to give it.

Because what might be going on here your diskmanagement only sees the 14Gigs - your ACU tells you have a array that is 146Gig But that is the array size not logical drive size.

Also try and use a Fdisk to see how big the hard drives are- if the are seen correct bios settings are correct then this is a windows problem
