GHD's on HQhair are cheaper than Peter Marks. I was just looking for the one that straightens your hair and I priced one for £80 which is about €114. Works out at less than €120 with delivery. AFAIK they are around €150 in Peter Marks (priced in early November). They deliver within a week and a half.

Also, if you go through the link on pigsback.com, you get 7 points for every €1 spent with them! Not a bad deal and points are added automatically when you order! :)

As a budget-concious alternative to GHD, I bought a remington ceramic straightener for E35 in Roches a while back. It's excellent. My hair is fairly thick and wavy and this little beauty straightens it no bother.

Really? I'd been looking at the GHD online as a christmas pressie but it's just too much. I might just give that one a look. Is there any flaws to the remington one? Does it come with that syrup stuff they give ya or does it screw up hair after too much use? I don't really know what I'm talking about but I'm prompting you to tell me more I guess!

I only use it about once a week at the most, so I don't know if it would ruin your hair after prolonged use. My hair always feels fine after I use it. I don't use any serum with it, as you should never use products with that level of intense heat (even if it comes with the straightener). Condition your hair well before hand but also make sure that it's been thoroughly rinsed out. After the irons, I would apply a little serum/gloss for final finish and a little condition.

I used a friends GHD a few times before and TBH i can't see any difference in the final product.

Second thumbs up for those Remington straighteners, they're absolutely brilliant and such good value. :)
