How many pets do you have?

Just wondering. We currently have

5 cats (two of which are mine)
and
4 birds (budgie, cockatiel & 2 zebra finches)
2 fish
1 rabbit.
which all belong to me.

The most we ever had was

20 cats
2 rabbits
3 chickens.

That was only for a couple of months. Most of the cats were kittens that were rehomed when they were 8 weeks old. The fact that one of our cats had SEVEN kittens in ONE litter didn't help!

Sorry to post OT but Bond has just mentioned something that has interested me for a while.
If I may ask Bond/Faye what does a skunk smell like when they spray their defensive spray? Is it like anything that we know?

Pet skunks are descented at 4 weeks old - He has a very slight musky smell less smelly than a ferret now - I am considering getting him neutered as well to see if that stops the muskiness.

From what I know a skunk smells rotten! If not descented & Rascal certianly would not be living in my bedroom if he was smelly!

All the birds except for the finches are outside in avaries as are all the piggies & bunnies except for 1 netheland dwarf baby & 1 baby lion head that I had to hand rear when her mum died. At the moment most of the rodents & gliders & chins etc are downstairs in the room that will be a guest bedroom! I have the skunk, squirrels & hogs in my room along with my snakes & frogs/toads & a water dragon & 1 of my bearded dragons & 1 stick insect & a cage of burrowing cockroaches(these are reared as a complimentry food for the lizards) My igs & monitor & 2 more beardies are in the front room - turtles/tortoises & skink are in the kitchen - cats & dogs go where they like.

Feeding is not that bad I'd say at most €100 a week - some weeks less depends how much bird seed needs buying. Its great having so many pets - I breed some of them & we are in the process of opening our pet shop. Cleaning cages is the worst! but it has to be done - I was sick all last week with flu & have a cold now so I am behind with cleaning out duty - I will get some more cleaned today - & will give the animal room a good sweep out.
