Combi box - Did I go too cheap?

I was recommended freetv.ie to get a combi box, I've bought an Amiko triple tuner as I wanted to be able to watch TV at the same time as recording, I also wanted a 7 day EPG for both Soarview and Satellite so I can programs things to record in advance.

This is the box - https://www.freetv.ie/triple-tuner/

I think it's the most expensive box they sell, but I've seen different boxes for double the price elsewhere.

So the issue is, I was watching Rte the other night, paused it and resumed and the audio and video was out of sync a little bit. Ok, I can cope with that. I had to pause it again and when I resumed the sound was completely gone! The box had only just been booted up, it's not like it hadn't been reset in a while. I couldn't turn it off again as I was pausing live TV so I'd miss the 20 minutes or whatever it was paused for.

I'm wondering is this box any good? Should I have bought something else? I'd rather pay a bit more and it works properly. I'm inside the 14 days distance selling period so I could return the item.

    TIA.

Lip sync can be a bugger and can be a mismatch with tv and box, tricky to fix. the amiko is well known but important to have latest software. What make is TV? Freetv are good so I would check back with them.

Also you should change the title on this thread and say lip sync issues with amiko triple and others may have a fix.

What other boxes have you seen?

It's an LG, albeit bought in 2015. Still it's okay, LED backlit, 47 inch, don't see the need to replace it as it has a good picture.

I believe the latest software is already on there. I couldn't see an option to change the thread title but I'll have another look when I have more time, thanks

You could just do a new thread but watch your return window.

See if you can try this on your TV. Older TV's can be a lot better than newer ones, mine is 2009.

To fix lip sync issues on your LG 47" LED backlit TV, go to the settings menu, select "Sound," then "AV Sync Adjustment," and adjust the audio delay until the sound matches the video.
