    Hello,

Recent storm blew down a fence panel. Bought a replacement in B&Q, but cannot install it, as the house roof (eaves) are just above. If someone has information on how to do this, please let me know. If some handy man reads this and can help, we're in Dublin 15 (Littlepace).

    Thanks!

I have the same problem. Myself and my neighbours are joined by single story utility rooms, and the roof juts out over the fence, so you can't drop the panel in from above as normal.

What we did was bend the panel in sideways. Catch the end nearest the house in the groove of the fence post, and hold the panel flush with the fence. Then get two people to shoulder it in the middle so that it bends and pops into the groove on the second post. Make sure to keep your fingers or clothing well clear, it will snap in suddenly and you could get caught. Also be careful pushing the panel that you don't snap it. There should be enough give in it.

If there's not enough give, the cut the top and bottom rails of the panel with a saw to make a weak point that will allow it to bend, then once it's in, reenforce both with lengths of treated timber.
