    Easy one to explain.

Give the player 10 shots. They can shoot from anywhere on the pitch. Points for each converted kick is = Distance in Meters from the goals.

ie 20 pts for a successful 20m kick etc.

What would you expect an average u14 to score right up to an intercounty adult?

It was an interesting metric my daughters coach has asked them all to do. She is u14 and with numerous attempts has yet to break the 200pt mark. Averaging around 190.

Only way to know what a good score is, is to have a sample size of probably 20 random players. Some should be atrocious and some should be good.

Of course then, all will only be doing it off their good side, which probably isn’t great to be doing.

In my limited experience. Shooting accurately and accurately from distance isn't a common skill until your in the higher divisions. Even then it's the minority that can do it. Especially in a match.

So taking the spread across all division 1 to 8 then all positions forwards to backs the latter who never get experience of it . The average is going to be pretty low.

The average of passing accurately and or successfully will be much higher than scoring average.

A lot of people shoot directly at the goal keeper for example. They literally aim at the goal keeper.
