Anyone having trouble with their phones after the newest Samsung update? Lots of the functionality seems to be affected for me, menus missing, swipes and buttons not responding etc.

    Just me?

You have to swipe down from your left hand side of the screen for notifications and your right for settings. Maybe you know that already. Bit of a pain in fairness

I got my update a few weeks ago and it was a right pain - shortcuts missing, the swipe typing gone, can't remember what else - but it took a lot of googling and watching YouTube videos to get it all back again!

This is the first time an update has had such an egregiously negative effect on my phone's usability.

It really has made using it much more cumbersome and in some cases incredibly buggy (buttons on apps just not working, rows of text appearing over windows etc). Roll on the next update and after that, I'll never turn my WiFi on again!!

Always advisable to clear the cache partition on your Samsung after receiving a major update. It’s a sure way to ensure any unnecessary stale data is cleared, which may otherwise be causing issues.

Just make sure you plug it into a computer, as that’s a requirement for getting into the Recovery menu.

And make sure it’s the cache partition that you clear down, and not the phone data!! Otherwise you’ll wipe everything!

Afaik it’s power off phone, then turn on whilst holding down volume up and power button.

    A rare boards.ie happy ending.

As hoped, new update came in today and phone is back working properly.
