Shooting Foxs and range finding.

Is a rangefinder on nightvision any help when shooting foxs. If it is should it be on the spotter or the sight.

In relation to "are they any help".. yes definitely.

On the rifle or spotter? I would say, on the spotter suits me best.

In my experience, if you know the ground well enough and if you use the same spots to sit and wait for them to pass the same backstops then, you don't really need one.

If you walk more, and take them on the move and if you need to dial, then it becomes very handy. Personally, I have a range finder on the spotter and find it easier and quicker to range something, then I will decide to deploy the rifle or get closer.

I don't bother dialing (day or night, I know I can point and shoot from 0-200, so i dont bother shooting outside that distance.

So for the "usual spots", I already know the distance, and for the shots on the move, I am only using the range finder to make sure I am inside that 200mtr.

All that being said, some NV scopes that come with built in ranger finders, will also compensate for balistics, so you ping something and it adjusts your zero to that distance (provided you have input all your balistic data to the scope).
