Radiator size question

    Hi,

Fairly noob at plumbing - apologies if a simple question - but Google & ChatGPT are giving me conflicting advice!!

The box room radiator is not heating up at all - It's probably 30 years old (as old as the house itself). I tried bleeding it, but there's a lot of gunk around the bleed valve and despite trying penetrating spray and scrapping off the gunk, the valve is not turning at all.

Thinking I need to replace this radiator at this stage but not sure about the size. Radiator itself measures 850mm long (33 inch x 21 inch I think), where as screwfix etc has radiators either 800mm or 900mm. The pipe-center to pipe-center measures 900mm. Should I buy a 900mm radiator, or 800mm + some sort of extension pipe?

    Thanks!!

Quick follow up - issue fixed. The trv pin was stuck in closed position. Took the head off, wiggled the pin gently and some WD-40 and everything working now.

May still go ahead with changing the radiator, but it's less urgent now.
