I am based in Dublin and have one of these PT32 GST ( PDF attached ) on the gas heating in Sligo… works VERY well unfortunately it ONLY 2G and on Vodafone phasing out by end of year.. and manufacturer will NOT be supporting anything above 2G.. I DO NOT have Wifi or have any intention of getting it..

I can use Garage opening GSM receivers ( simple on/off) and the like and there are some options available but would have seperate power supply and possibly power operating relay messy and time consuming. .. and then cost is climbing,.

I do like the ability to actually control ( temps ) on the boiler same as this unit but can accept ON.OFF from a fully integrated and reasonably priced unit.. with NO monthly fees and if app supplied suitable for english langauge and Irish GSM 4 G network.

Any ideas………

Hi, surely you were paying monthly for the 2G SIM contract?

The smart devices have taken over most or all of that market for remote controllers to be honest.

Try email elektrobock.cz and see if they have 4G/5G devices available (I still only see 2G there), but beyond that what you need is a gate controller with relay output (but won't offer temperature control).

Another messy option would be to have a 4G/5G router/gateway, and then connect a 'smart' heating controller to it over WiFi. Set static IP's on each device.

Except you would then have to open the port to the web interface for the heating controller, and register a dynamic DNS name to the gateway, otherwise the IP will change and you won't be able to contact it. Like I said - messy.

The original manufacturers are not interested in 4G/5G .. I did find a Latvian manufacturer of a similar temp control product with output ( last on in stock and will NOT be making anymore.. ) but needs a power supply and case,, cost is going too high…
