Leak under sink

This beautiful work of art was installed before we bought the house. I screwed out he centre of the drain that mates with the sink plug strainer as there was dirt at the bottom and the plug wasnt going in far enough. I think in doing so I've pushed something down.

Would there be something I can do to fix this temporarily and I'll get a plumber in to sort fix it properly then. Just wedge some wood underneath the pipes? (Have since tried but no joy) Or do that and use silicone. How is it supposed to be held in place? I am getting the plumber in to install a willis immersion and a mixer tap on the hot water cylinder so if I could get a week out of the sink I could get him to do both jobs at once.

Have you tried screwing back in the centre screw that you removed?

Push the grey bit back up so that the black seal is touching the bottom of the sink. Tighten the screw in the centre of the drain until the seal underneath is firmly attached.

Thanks so much, that was very simple and farrly obvious! When i removed it again the drain cover came off and then I could see how it all linked. It's difficult to google these things when I didn't know the names of the componets. Thanks again! Plumber coming Monday to fix the general mess down there!

EDIT: I seem to have moved the leak down to the junction held with cable ties. Reduced as much as I could and have a baisin catching it. It will do until Monday! Everything must have been very finely balanced. The right hand side is too low, and the right hand cable tie isn't doing anything now, it used to hold it up. Oh well, be good to get it done properly!

yeah the plumber is coming Monday replace that mess, but got it back to how it was for now :-) I think the guy who owned the house before was an electrcian and must have had a go at doing the plumbing himself also as it's not the first plumbing issue I've discovered!
